It really upset me that there was nothing happening in the UK to celebrate MCA Day. Yauch's legacy is huge, and its cool that people honoured it in their own small ways, but still disappointing that no one over here came together in a community of Beastie lovers to celebrate him.

Yeah, that kinda sucks. I can’t imagine that no one in the UK thought to do it!

So here was my dilemma…I got this confession and didn’t know if the submitter meant Sabotage Beastie Cops or FFYRR Beastie Cops, so I made one for both!!

I thought I would use a “Yauch does not approve” photo for this confession because I don’t believe there is a place in the B-boy world for judging who is a “real fan” or not. It doesn’t matter how old you are and how much you listen to them or know about them…if you feel the music, you are a true fan in my book..

At first I was kind of weirded out by how intense and emotional people got about the Beastie Boys and Adam’s passing, but the more I learnt about them and listened to their music, the more I understood. While I dont feel as strongly as some people do, I can see that everything they did had real meaning and real impact.
